Brush Your Teeth Every Single Day

From a very young age, we're taught that brushing our teeth is important. We're told that if we don't brush our teeth every day, we might get attacked by dangerous 'organisms.' And when we go to the dentist for a regular check-up, the first question they ask is whether we brush our teeth daily or not.

Why does everybody keep repeating the same thing that we must brush our teeth every day?

We know that brushing our teeth ensures that there are no food particles sticking to our teeth and our mouth doesn't smell bad. But is that all? Well, no. There are numerous reasons why brushing your teeth every day is necessary!

Prevent Gum Disease

If you don't brush your teeth regularly, plaque starts to build up. Plaque is the yellowish accumulation on the teeth (ew!) formed due to the build-up of food and bacteria on the teeth. Plaque doesn't just make your teeth appear yellow but also puts you at risk of painful gum disease. Brushing your teeth every day will ensure the food and bacteria don't get a chance to accumulate, thereby preventing plaque build-up and reducing the chances of gum disease.

Prevent Bad Breath

Not brushing your teeth will make your breath smell foul. You may not realize that your mouth is smelling bad, but when you meet people and move your face closer to them to greet or talk, they'll instantly feel it, and trust us when we say it'll be an absolute turn-off! Bad breath is due to the presence of bacteria in the mouth, but brushing your teeth ensures that there are no bacteria that may cause your breath to smell unpleasant.

Prevent Tooth Decay

Brushing your teeth regularly ensures the bacteria don't get an opportunity to make a home in your mouth. Bacteria in the mouth can attack the teeth and lead to tooth decay. However, you don't have to worry if you brush your teeth every day. Brushing teeth every day helps you get rid of any bacteria in the mouth and, therefore, prevents the onset of tooth decay!

Saves Money

If you don't brush your teeth routinely, you're at risk of tooth decay, gum disease, and numerous other oral cavity problems. When you notice symptoms of any periodontal disease, you'll have to go to the dentist. Dental treatments don't come cheap, and we aren't kidding! Not brushing your teeth will eventually lead to periodontal disease development, and treating these dental problems can cost you a lot! However, you can save all this money if you make it a habit to brush your teeth every day!

Removes Stain

Consuming dark-coloured foods and drinks can stain your teeth. Red wine can make your teeth appear reddish, and an orange-flavoured Popsicle can leave your teeth and tongue appearing orange, for example. Stained teeth look gross. However, you can save yourself the embarrassment by brushing your teeth every day!

Brushing your teeth every day is highly recommended. It's not something you should skip out of laziness. In fact, ideally, you should be brushing your teeth at least twice a day, once in the morning and once before going to bed.
